Went out and got a used 1990´s AF Nikkor 28-85 f/3.5-4.5N for the Nikon F80 that I have had lying around unused for years, while I used the build like a brick 1960´s Nikkormat FTn with a 35mm f/2.8.

Having read lots of good stuff about this particular lens (http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/2885af.htm) and seeing that there were 2 really nice ones, both with perfect glass and costing only 75$ / €66, to choose from at the store, I went ahead and got the nicest looking and smoothest operating one. Good thing is that, this little gem will fit on any Nikon digital full framer just perfectly, but of course it won´t focus as fast as newer lenses and it doesn´t have internal focusing, which can be a problem when using a linear polarizer.
